At The Silkie Lab, we provide DNA Testing for many species of Birds. We currently do DNA Testing using PCR (polymerase chain reaction), and are able to accept feather samples, Eggshells, blood in a vial and blood spots on paper. Additionally, we now offer Mareks/ALV Testing via immunochromatography.

We can Gender Test just about any type of bird, so if you want your birds tested and aren’t sure if we can or not, please reach out!
