ALV Antigen Testing

$25.00

An ALV (Avian Leukosis Virus)  Antigen Rapid Test is a diagnostic tool used in veterinary medicine to detect the presence of ALV antigens in poultry. Avian Leukosis Virus is a retrovirus that can cause various forms of cancer and other diseases in chickens and other birds.

The rapid test involves collecting a sample, such as blood or tissue, from birds and using specific antibodies to detect ALV antigens if present. These tests provide quick results, typically within minutes, facilitating early detection and management of ALV infections in poultry farms.

For ALV rapid antigen tests, sensitivity and specificity can vary, but they are typically designed to be sensitive enough to detect the virus during its infectious stage when antigens are present in the bird’s system.

We are able to accept samples from Cloaca swabs, blood in vials, and blood on paper like a coffee filter. We do not send you sample collection supplies.
