Our Marek’s Disease test detects the presence of Marek’s viral DNA in your bird, helping identify active infection. Using standard PCR methods, this test can show if a chicken is currently carrying the virus—even if symptoms aren’t visible yet. Fast, reliable results from just a feather or blood sample on a coffee filter. Ideal for breeders, backyard flocks, and anyone concerned about flock health.
A positive result could mean the bird:
Is currently infected with the Marek’s virus (active or latent),
Was previously infected and still carries viral DNA,
Has been vaccinated (especially if using a live virus vaccine, like HVT or CVI988/Rispens).
We are able to accept samples from blood on a coffee filter and freshly plucked feathers. We do not send you sample collection supplies.
